Share links that expire
Sometimes a teammate just needs the file. Not bucket access, not credentials, not a lecture about IAM. Varv turns any file into a link you can paste anywhere, and the link stops working when you say so.
How it works
Right click a file, pick the lifetime, copy the link. Under the hood Varvcreates a presigned URL, the standard S3 mechanism for temporary access. The link is signed with your credentials but shares none of them; whoever has it can download that one file until the timer runs out, and nothing else.
Links to old versions too
On buckets with versioning enabled, you can create a link to a specific version of a file. Useful when someone needs yesterday's export, not the one that just replaced it.
Works on every provider
Presigned URLs are part of the S3 API, so this works on Amazon S3 and the S3 compatible services Varv supports, from R2 to MinIO. Your permissions still apply: a link can never grant more than your own credentials could.
